The European Union (EU) and Sri Lanka held their 23rd meeting of the Joint Commission on 25 January 2021, via video conference. This was the first Joint Commission under the new leadership in both the European Union and Sri Lanka.
The Joint Commission meeting, held in a cordial and open atmosphere wih the EU and Sri Lanka exchanging views on a wide array of subjects, reaffirming the deep cooperation ties and the willingness to strengthen the relationship between the people of the EU and Sri Lanka further.

should be fbi director. >> i have spoken with the president about it. i recommended merrick garland. he has the deep background in criminal law. he was the prosecutor in the oklahoma city bombing case, and i think it would make it clear that president trump will continue the tradition at the fbi of having an a-political professional. >> so the name merrick garland is starting to gain some steam here. it was mentioned last week when fbi director comey was fired. now it seems like more and more senators might be getting on board. merrick garland was the pick from president obama for the supreme court, but he never even got a hearing. when it does come to the search for the fbi director, we know jeff sessions gave an update to the president yesterday. it wasn't clear whether he offered a final recommendation or it was keeping the president appraised. so we are keeping an eye on this
