Policy to serve twin objectives of livelihood generation, environment sustainability

India is considering not extending the solar module import exemption beyond March 31. The Ministry may relax commissioning timelines for modules arriving before the deadline to bridge the supply-demand gap in the solar sector.

On February 9th, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) of India released a office memorandum stating that from April 1st, 2024, the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) for solar PV modules will be implemented once again.
