Nigerian police operatives from the Anambra State command attached to the Area Command Headquarters, Onitsha have arrested two suspected kidnappers, rescued a kidnap victim, and recovered arms and a vehicle. The Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, who made this known in a statement on Thursday, said that the officers while on township patrol on Wednesday received a distress call at about 9.30pm of a kidnap incident around Borromeo Roundabout.

The Anambra State Police Command has said that its operatives on Thursday recovered some arms belonging to a criminal gang in the state.  The Police Public Relations Officer in the state command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, who made this known in a statement on Sunday, said at about 8.30 p.m. on Thursday, a police detachment in the Aguata area of the state while on patrol of Uga-Ezinifite Expressway saw an SUV drive past at a "terrible speed".
