Oyo State High Court sitting in Awe, Oyo State, has struck out a case filed by the Oyo kingmakers ( Oyo Mesi) against the state governor, Seyi Makinde, the state Attorney General and the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters on the vacant stool of Alaafin of Oyo over administrative defect.

Oyo High Court dismisses kingmakers' case against Governor Makinde due to procedural defect.

The kingmakers in Oyo town, otherwise known as the Oyomesi in Council, have dragged Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, to court over the vacant stool of the Alaafin of Oyo.

Kingmakers asks Oyo State High Court in Oyo to restrain Governor Makinde and his agents “from aborting the process for the selection/appointment of the new Alaafin of Oyo.
