Over 500 hospitals in India have been certified as Eat Right Campus by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). The initiative aims to promote safe, healthy, and sustainable food environments within institutions and workplaces. Among the certified hospitals, about 100 are government hospitals. The FSSAI has established strict criteria and evaluation processes for the certification.

The score of Nagaland in the annual State Food Safety Index (SFSI) by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), declined further in 2022-23, while its ranking stagnated at 6th among eight states placed under the 'Small States' category.
