"The 4G core developed by C-DoT is performing very well in the BSNL network in Punjab. It was installed in July last year. It takes 12 month to prove the success of such complex technology but the C-DoT core has stabilised within 10 months. BSNL will launch atmanirbhar 4G technology across the country in August," a senior government official, who did not wish to be named, told PTI.

August last year, Tejas said it had bagged a Rs 7,492 crore (about $900 million) contract to supply its latest 4G/5G Radio Access Network (RAN) for state-run BSNLs pan-India network, spanning 100,000 sites.

Tejas Networks, led by Anand Athreya and Arnob Roy, anticipates strong growth fueled by diverse opportunities like 5G upgrades, BharatNet, and global broadband expansion. The company aims for flawless execution, efficient supply chain management, and leveraging a healthy order book.

Anand Athreya: There is an upgrade that is going to happen after the 4G gets deployed, so that is an opportunity and then the 5G radios will come after that and that is a separate tender and we hope to participate and win that too.

“It will take at least one more year for the TCS to supply its 4G equipments to BSNL, since those equipments have not even completed field trials,” the BSNL Employees Union (BSNLEU) said.

The company has secured an additional purchase order amounting to Rs 107 crore for extra sites, contributing to the expansion of the state-run mobile operators fourth-generation network, , tejas networks, bsnl 4g, 4g deployment

"We continue to see good business traction, both for our wireless as well as our wireline business. On the wireless segment, we continued to ramp up our BSNL 4G RAN shipments, and several thousand systems have been shipped which are a combination of single and dual-band radios in Band 1 and Band 28," said Arnob Roy, Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Whole-Time Director, Tejas Network, at the companys Q3 FY24 post-earnings call.

For the BSNL 4G network, the Bengaluru-headquartered firm has also started supplying the backhaul equipment of IP/MPLS routers. “This is a project in several hundred of crores for deploying more than 15,000 routers. This will enable the backhaul network of the BSNL 4G nationwide network,” the COO said.

"Tejas Networks (Tejas), India’s largest R&D-driven telecom equipment company, designs and manufactures wireline/wireless networking products. We expect Tejas to execute orders worth at least Rs292bn over FY24-28E, and generate revenue/EBITDA above Rs300bn/Rs60bn, respectively, led by the BSNL and BharatNet projects."
