WARRENSBURG — Earlier this month, the University of Central Missouri introduced two new exhibitions taking place at the UCM Art Center Gallery. “Empowered by Design,” an exhibition produced by Kansas State University Assistant Professor of Interior Architecture & Industrial Design Scott Barton, and “Second Nature,” which highlights the artistic processes of a Missouri sculptor, Gary Staab, both opened for viewing on Jan. 8 and are available until Feb. 1.
The University of Central Missouri Gallery of Art and Design rings in the new year with two exhibitions and two creative workshops, one for kids and one for grownups. All of these exhibits and opportunities are open to the public, and are in addition to opportunities to meet and hear from individuals who are helping to make the main exhibits possible.

Highlighting the diverse, talented faculty members who serve the University of Central Missouri, performing artists representing the UCM academic areas of Music, Theatre and Dance return to Hart Recital Hall for their annual season opener, the Provost’s Faculty Showcase, at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 28.
The University of Central Missouri Art Center Galleries has announced two exhibitions, “The Faculty Show” and “Continues to Flicker,” to be presented free and open to the public Aug. 14 through Sept. 16 on the UCM campus. Admission to these events is free and all who are interested are welcome to attend.
