Clinehens thanks BOE for support JACKSON CENTER The Jackson Center Local Board of Education was thanked by a longtime employee during its meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2021. The meeting was recheduled from Monday, Feb. 15, becauze of the weather. Lora Clinehens wanted to personally thank the board for their support over the years as she will retire at the end of the school year after teaching for 28 years. The board accepted donation of $350 from Tom and Darlene Woolley fir the Athletic Fund. In other business, the board: • Renewed the Preschool Education Contract with the Shelby County Board of Developmental Disabilities for the 2021-22 and 2022-23 school years.

CMU's generosity rises above year's challenges | Local News

​When there s an opportunity to impact the life of students, the Central Michigan University family will rise to the occasion each and every time. This was evident on Giving Tuesday, Dec. 1, as the university community shattered expectations and exceeded the $175,000 fundraising goal by nearly $100,000. I am continually inspired by the generosity of our community. Our alumni and supporters are dedicated to lifting up our students and helping them pursue their passions and academic goals, CMU President Bob Davies said. Through their philanthropic support, they have truly demonstrated their compassion and Fired-Up attitude. We know CMU Chippewas will always come together to support our students — that is what we do.

Memorial Service For Legendary Coach Tom Weathers Will Be Wednesday At Red Bank High Thursday, December 10, 2020 A funeral service for legendary Red Bank High School football coach Tom Weathers will be held Wednesday at the school.   The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. at the Red Bank High School gymnasium. The service will follow promptly at 7 p.m.     He was born November 22, 1939 in Columbus, Miss., to the late William Lewis Weathers and Ludy Williamson Weathers. Coach Weathers graduated high school at New Hope High (‘57), in Columbus MS. He was recruited by Coach Scrappy Moore to play football for the Moccasins at the University of Chattanooga where he was a four-year letterman and a two-year captain. He received a B.S. degree in Health and Physical Education (‘62) at UC. He later received his M.A. degree in Health and Physical Education (‘69) at Tennessee Tech.
