(New Braunfels) – Seguin High School senior Tristan Moreno won the gold medal in the 100 meters and anchored the first-place 4×200 relay team to highlight a group of Matador athletes who earned area qualifications in eight events at the District 26-5A track-and-field championships this week at Canyon High School in New Braunfels.
Moreno’s 100-meter time of 11.04 was fast enough to beat runner-up Gunnar Betts (11.31) of Dripping Springs.
