Ford has recalled about 200,000 Super Duty trucks to fix a potential rollaway problem. A washer in the transmission can disintegrate and become lodged in the Park position keeping the truck from remaining in Park.

Ford F-150 Lightning customers will receive a bonus when they take delivery of their electric pickups. The Lightnings will given them more power and more range than they had expected. It is an unexpected bonus from Ford which is now the leader in electric pickups.

With the start of LIghtning production, Ford is worried that there might be folks who jump in and try to jack up prices for new Lightnings by buying them at MSRP and then jacking the price. Customers for the new electric pickup may be forced to sign a one-year resale ban. It isn't unprecedented.

In another safety recall, Ford has recalled nearly 100,000 2015 Escapes to fix a potential rollaway problem due to a problem with a transmission cable bushing.

As an automaker, Ford usually invests in all things vehicular. Sometimes, though, Ford invests in things that are a bit different, a bit off the beaten-path, so to speak. Here is a story about a few of the automaker's current and past projects that aren't totally vehicular.

Ford has issued a major pickup and SUV recall to repair a problem with their wiper arms. According to the automaker, the gearing is "not at the right height" and it can end up stripping the arm, causing a failure.

For a long time, Ford car and truck owners have looked wistfully at other parts of the world as various models that were not offered here were on sale there. Take the Ford Ranger Raptor, though it debuted in February in Europe and it seemed to have the sign "Europe-only" plastered firmly on the windshield, the automaker has acknowledged the it will become part of the automaker's lineup in 2023.

Ford has issued a recall to repair the backup cameras in some of its 2022 Transits. The cameras stop working when an upfitter does work on the vehicle.

Although it has seemed to take forever, the impending launch of the Ford F-150 Lightning has been rather quick. As recently as two years ago, the automaker was still teasing the pickup's launch and now it is scheduled for April 26.

In another major recall, Ford has recalled nearly 50,000 2021 F-150 pickups to repair a problem with a false diagnostic issue that shuts down the transmission and stops the pickup, increasing the risk of a crash.
