The Houston Police Department shared troubling details Wednesday about a major auto theft ring operating in the city over the last five years.

Houston Police Chief Troy Finner and officers announced a “massive takedown” in a major auto theft ring on Wednesday.

Three adults and a juvenile have all been charged in connection with the case.

The crime group was based out of Windsor, Ont., police say. Over 130 vehicles valued at over $9 million have been recovered and 23 people face 279 charges.
