Washington Girls’ Hoops Heads into Playoff Action on KCII

The all-tournament captain, Ava Schubert smacked 17 kills as second-ranked Davenport Assumption captured its first state volleyball championship Thursday afternoon at Xtream Arena. The Knights (33-7) swept No. 4 Sioux Center, 25-23, 25-16, 25-21.

Second-ranked Davenport Assumption received 16 kills from Maggie Johnson and 13 more from Ava Schubert, sweeping No. 3 Mount Vernon, 25-19, 28-26, 25-20, in the Class 3A state semifinals Wednesday afternoon at Xtream Arena.
