Police are wrapping up their preliminary investigation into the death of a 35-year-old woman in January.

The defendants in the case allegedly targeted people in weaker positions, including the intoxicated and defenceless, as well as members of various minority groups, police say.

The alleged incident took place about a year ago and the case has been handed to the prosecutor for consideration of charges.
