West Power & Gas Limited, the parent company of Eko Electricity Distribution Plc (EKEDP) has sacked the immediate former MD/CEO of the electricity distribution company, Ms Tinuade Sanda. Sanda’s appointment with WPG Ltd was terminated in a letter signed by the company chairman, Charles Momoh and dated April 17, 2024. The letter titled, ‘Termination Of Contract Of Employment,’ said Ms Sanda’s termination of employment takes effect from the date on the letter.

The rift came into the open when who between Dr. Tinuade Sanda and Rekhiat Momoh is the MD/CEO of the company.

While the Board said Dr. Tinuade Sanda is MD/CEO, the Chairman said Rekhiat Momoh occupies it in acting capacity.

This was as allegations of fraud and negligence reared its head in perhaps the biggest DisCo in the country.

There is a dark web of corruption threatening the light of one of Nigeria’s most important electricity distribution companies, the Eko Electricity Distribution Plc (EKEDP).    Eko DISCO as it is also called, has been facing issues of inadequacies and the absence of optimal service provision for some time, with customers often complaining about the company’s inefficiencies and struggles.
