We have been at war for so long as a nation that it is hard to remember that war is not a permanent condition for us. and that u.s. troops not dying in combat should be the norm and not the operation. but it is the operation. it has been more than a decade since thats been true. but it is true right now. its true as of the month that just ended and thats worth being thankful for. and i have another one for you, which is always worthy of thanks. over this more than a decade at these two long wars...
