A woman in the US state of Pennsylvania has been accused of fatally poisoning her boyfriend's toddler by feeding her batteries, screws and nail polish remover.

Aleisia was arrested after Pennsylvania Attorney General Michelle Henry declared that an autopsy revealed that the child's death was caused by deadly quantities of acetone in her blood.

On June 25, 2023, the 20-year-old Aleisia Owens was with Iris' father, Bailey Jacoby, when he left the house to go to the store.

Acetone poisoning killed 1-year-old Iris Alfera, but she had also ingested water beads, batteries, and a metal screw.
