DHQ said several enclaves of notable terrorist leaders and commanders like Nasanda, Babaru, Kamilu Buzaru, Ali Dawud, Bakura Fallujah and Mallam Ari, across North-west, were bombarded and destroyed.

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) said troops across the country killed 715 terrorists, arrested 146 others and rescued 465 kidnapped hostages in April.

The Defence Headquarters, DHQ, on Thursday, admitted avoidable professional errors by its Troops in the airstrikes that were executed in Tudun Biri Village, Jabi Local Government Area of Katsina State last year during which several innocent citizens were reportedly killed.

Operations in April included ambushes, raids, and fighting patrols, with aerial assets identifying and targeting terrorist leaders and their bases.

A total of 715 terrorist members were killed by the Nigerian military during a series of gun battles that took place nationwide in April.    The Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba disclosed this on Thursday during an update on military operations, adding that 146 other suspects were arrested and 465 kidnapped victims were rescued during the same period.     

The Defence Headquarters also said a total of 122 ISWAP/JAS terrorists surrendered with their families.

DHQ said the troops also recovered 211 assorted weapons and 6,288 assorted ammunition within the week.
