Marcel Pratt, the managing partner of Ballard Spahr’s Philadelphia office, has joined the William Penn Foundation Board of Directors.
Mr. Pratt is a member of Ballard Spahr’s Litigation Department. His practice includes complex business litigation, antitrust and competition law, loss recovery, investigations, class action litigation, and government relations. He is the immediate past City Solicitor of Philadelphia, the city s highest-ranking lawyer and leader of its 330-member Law Department.
Founded in 1945, the William Penn Foundation aims to improve education for children from low-income families, ensure a sustainable environment, and foster creative communities that enhance civic life and advance philanthropy in the Greater Philadelphia region. The Board of Directors includes members of the Haas family and public directors selected for their professional and civic expertise.

Steve Burkhart a commercial lawyer and litigator with more than 25 years of experience who for over a decade was vice president, general counsel, and secretary at BIC has joined Ballard Spahr, firm Chair Mark Stewart announced.
Mr. Burkhart is a member of Ballard Spahr’s Litigation Department. He is resident in the firm’s Baltimore office.
