Norway's energy ministry approves operator of Polaris CO2 storage site | CCS

Norwegian clean energy company Horisont Energi (Horisont) has announced that the Norwegian Ministry of Energy has approved PGNiG Upstream Norway (PUN) as operator and partner with Horisont in Polaris – the only carbon dioxide (CO2) storage site located in the Barents Sea.

Norway: Equinor leaves the Barents Blue project as agreement period ends

Operator Horisont Energi has announced Fertiberia as a new partner to join the Barents Blue project. The previous partners Equinor and Vår Energi leave the project as the cooperation agreement expired on 31 January. The Barents Blue concept is to make ammonia from natural gas from the Barents Sea, capture the CO2 and store it under the seabed.
