After the South Windsor Planning and Zoning Commission rejected a plan to bring a Tesla dealership to town, East Windsor officials say they would welcome such an establishment. East Windsor First Selectman Jason Bowsza sent a letter on July 29, making it known that the town is interested in a Tesla dealership on Route 5. On July 26, South Windsor’s PZC rejected the proposed text amendment allowing the sale of electric vehicles in the Buckland Road Gateway Zone.

The South Windsor Planning and Zoning Commission in a 4-3 vote Tuesday night rejected a zoning regulation change that would have allowed adding 165 units to the Tempo apartment complex at Evergreen Walk. The Buckland Gateway Development Zone general plan limits the area to 200 units of multifamily residences and requires one square foot of commercial space to be constructed for every two square feet of residential.

The South Windsor Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously voted against an application for a 360,000 square-foot warehouse along Governor’s Highway and Talbot Lane at its meeting Tuesday night. Six members voted, with PZC member Robert Vetere absent and alternate Paul Bernstein seated in the absence of member Stephanie Dexter.
