PESHAWAR:
In a surprise move, a government delegation, headed by Defence Minister Pervez Khattak, visited the opposition Awami National Party on Sunday, to garner support for the March 12 election of the Senate chairman.
The ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf delegation met ANP Central Senior Vice President Amir Haider Khan Hoti at Wali Bagh in Peshawar. The PTI candidate for the slot, Sadiq Sanjrani, who is the incumbent upper house of parliament chairman, was also present.

CHARSADDA: Awami National Party MPA Shakeel Bashir Khan Umarzai narrowly escaped an ambush, but his police guard Constable Shehenshah was killed in the attack on their cavalcade on Ghani Khan road on Tuesday night.
According to police, MPA Shakeel Bashir and his brother Afzal Bashir were passing through the Ghani Khan road when their cavalcade was attacked. As a result of the attack, police guard Shehenshah was killed on the spot, while the lawmaker and his brother narrowly escaped the ambush.
