A Look Back in Time: February 25, 1921 – Sheridan Media

Now here’s Sheridan Media’s look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on Feb. 25, 1921. Mrs. James M. Brunsell Jr. of Swan street and an unidentified young man rescued two boys, ages 6 and 8, from drowning yesterday in Big Goose creek between Swan and Badger streets. The boys were on their way home from school when they tried to walk across the thin film of ice over the creek. Coffee is 38 cents a pound at the Basket Grocery store. Mrs. C. C. Truder of Ranchester is a visitor in Sheridan.

Arvada now heads the farm bureau membership drive, with 29 paid-up members living in the Arvada district. Today is agate day, with special prices on agate jewelry, at F. J. Bentley’s, 25 Alger street. The Sheridan Variety Store has delicious fresh chocolate candy 50 cents a pound. The Basket Grocery stores have received the largest and best bunch of Christmas trees that have ever come to Sheridan. Mrs. Eva Roush and Marvin H.
