The parcel in question is south of Highland Scenic Drive and would mean an extension of Ironwood Drive near the intersection of Mapleton Road.

The project would cut 50-90% of the jack pine trees within a specified area and then the site would receive plug planting of native plants as needed for the restoration area and remove buckthorn.

Jeremy Vacinek, Baxter’s finance director, presented the resolution to the council and said Baxter is scheduled to receive about $914,000 in federal funds from the legislation.
