A brand-new car awaits a lucky winner at Kidd’s Beach Primary School. The fundraiser, in partnership with Kelston Chery East London, offers East London and Kidd’s Beach residents the chance to drive off in a brand-new Chery Tiggo 4 Pro Urban. One of the school's teachers, Kaylyn Arthur, said the intention was to raise funds to improve the facilities.

Teaching and learning at Kayser’s Beach Primary in East London are a nightmare for the teachers and the school’s 198 pupils. Teachers believe they are all putting their lives at risk by working in classrooms in damaged containers and using dilapidated toilets.

The program will allow for meals to children 18 years old and younger and will be served at various elementary, middle, and high schools in the school district.

All schools in the Castle School Education Trust are affected, including Castle School and Marlwood School. In an update posted on the Castle Schools Facebook page headteacher Joe Docherty said: "The team are working extremely hard to address the problem, but we cannot currently give a time frame for a resolution to the issue. "As you can imagine this is the last thing we need in the current situation, as we adapt our teaching, systems and communications in the face of this challenge. "...
