Take Two Interactive has acquired Gearbox Entertainment from The Embracer Group for $460 million. The announcement also confirms Gearbox is working on a new game in the Borderlands franchises.

Take-Two will become the proud owner of major Gearbox studios and franchises including Borderlands, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, and Homeworld.

While Embracer Group has sold the majority of its previous studios and games from Gearbox Entertainment to Take-Two Interactive, it revealed today it has kept a few studios and games for itself.
