Bear Mountain Range News Today

CAL FIRE will conduct a prescribed Burn in the Whittle Vegetation Management Program.

The prescribed burn is slated for tomorrow, and CAL Fire officials ask the public not to report it as a wildland fire.

The Whittle Vegetation Management Program Prescribed Burn began this morning with the goal of setting about 60 acres ablaze.

Smoke will be visible today coming from the Fowler Peak Lookout and Bear Mountain Range located west of Angels Camp and east of Copperopolis.

There will be no holiday for some local CAL Fire crews who will be conducting a prescribed burn and training on the holiday.

The burns will begin next week with one in the Angels Camp area and the other in the Valley Springs area.
