Trick-or-treaters in Rolling Meadows participated in the "Costume Walk for the Bear" to benefit the Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation.

Barrett "Bear" Casey was just 8 years old when he passed away after a more than five-year battle with Wilms tumor, a rare kidney cancer. To honor his memory, Bears mother, Kathleen A. Casey of Chicago, started the Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation. The 10th Annual Costume "A Walk for the Bear" will take place Sunday, Oct. 22, at Busse Woods in Rolling Meadows.

The inspirational health visitor realised families needed more support after having a baby and couldnt bare letting them struggle.

The Associated Students of the University of Montana voted to support the basic needs office’s stance on the University, bolstering Bear Necessities basic needs assistance instead of shifting its focus

It’s not often that an office’s staff wants to make their positions obsolete, but that’s exactly the goal of Bear Necessities.

After months of preparation, a program titled Bear Necessities launched Feb. 1 to connect students in need to resources such as the University of Montana Food Pantry and legal services.
