It’s been a couple months now since the last public, live concert at The Loading Dock, which leads to questions about what happened and why the only true all-ages venue in downtown Aberdeen has closed.

Drivers and pedestrians ought to take seriously the “Sidewalk Closed” signs outside of Aberdeen’s tallest building, the Becker Building, because they’re not there for show.

Local musician Wil Russoul treated a few local coffee and tea drinkers to a short setlist Wednesday morning at Nirvana Coffee Company. If that’s any indication of how easy it is to bring live music to the area, it’s another fun, local element to introduce as summer approaches in Aberdeen.

He met the teachers there and delivered a brief speech on the spot. He also reportedly spoke to students of the university. Students from the SFI union submitted a deputation to the governor.

The Peoria Fire Department said there were 22 incidents of frozen or burst pipes over the weekend.
