Seven guided hikes covering a variety of nature and history themes will take place on April 20, 2024 in Kanawha State Forest during the Kanawha State Forest Foundations annual Osbra Eye Spring Nature Walks program. The annual spring nature walk series is named after the prolific, self-taught botanist who served as superintendent of Kanawha State Forest from 1956 to 1981.

The Madison County revaluation team will meet at Beech Glen and Ebbs Chapel Community Centers Feb. 6 and Feb. 15, respectively.

Guided nature walks covering topics ranging from geology to edible plants will take place Saturday at Kanawha State Forest as part of the annual Margaret Denison Fall Nature Walks program.

"I wouldnt be where I am without them. (Special Olympics) means a lot to me," said Chris Dockery, 17, a Special Olympics of Madison County athlete.
