Beeper Mini, an iMessage on Android solution that has received significant hype since its launch earlier this week, seems to have been killed off by Apple just days after release.

Beeper Mini, the ambitious endeavor to bring iMessage functionality to Android, encountered a sudden setback last Friday.

The new "iMessage on Android" app, Beeper Mini, was released on December 5 and offers iMessage blue bubbles and end-to-end encryption to Android users. On Friday, users found they could no longer send and receive messages.

The development team behind Beeper Mini has promised a fix for its iMessage on Android app, with work underway to try and regain access to Apples messaging network.
