POCAHONTAS—Junior Ben Helmers poured in a career-high 45 points to help the Algona Bulldog boys’ basketball team to an 83-58 non-conference victory on Monday, Feb. 5 over the Pocahontas Area Indians. Helmers connected on 17 of 29 overall field goals, including two of seven behind the three-point arc. He went nine of 13 from the charity stripe while teammate Alex Manske contributed 26 points and grabbed 12 caroms.
