DOE wants electric cooperatives to put up own generating plants
A ranking Department of Energy official is proposing to temporarily increase the lifeline subsidy mechanics and empower electric cooperatives to put up their own generating plants to lower the cost of electricity, and the suspension of the Biofuels Act of 2006 to mitigate rising fuel prices.
