The Nigerian Army, the respondent, is being sued by 17 residents of Okuama-Ewu, whose long-standing land disputes with Okoloba, Bomadi Local Government Area, worsened and forced soldiers into the community on March 14. The residents are requesting N200 billion in general and exemplary damages.

Residents of Okuama-Ewu, Ughelli South Local Government Area, Delta State, have filed a N200 billion lawsuit against the Nigerian Army at the Federal High Court in Warri for cordoning off their community, destroying their homes, dehumanising them, and accusing them of killing 17 military personnel.
