Center for Biological Diversity: LOS ANGELES— The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management agreed today to review outdated plans for offshore oil platforms near Huntington Beach in Southern California. Under the agreement, BOEM must complete the reviews of decades-old development plans for Platforms Edith, Ellen, Elly and Eureka before Dec. 15, 2024.

Center for Biological Diversity: LOS ANGELES— A federal court today allowed a lawsuit challenging the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management’s failure to review outdated plans for offshore oil platforms near Huntington Beach to proceed. The judge rejected the Biden administration’s attempt to dismiss the case on the grounds the court did not have jurisdiction to hear it.
