SEARSPORT — Gov. Janet Mills today announced that the state of Maine has selected a section of state-owned Sears Island that is reserved for port development as its preferred site

Gov. Janet Mills said, based on input from port and offshore wind stakeholders, including the University of Maine and on technical and engineering analyses, the state has concluded that the Sears Island parcel is the most feasible port development site. It's expected to be 100 acres of development in total.

ISLESBORO — Islesboro Islands Trust announced it has engaged the legal services of Scott Sells of Sells Law Firm LLC to advise and represent it in connection with the state

One person vowed to bind the state up in legal filings if it decided to construct the port at Sears Island.
