Analysis of hoax calls by BeenVerified has uncovered the top phone scam area code number for each state across the US.

"It had my sister's contact on the phone, so it looked exactly like she was calling me," one victim tells Inside Edition. "I have a picture for her for the contact — that popped up."

Cybersecurity expert Joseph Steinberg warns that there are now almost 20 area codes to watch out for which are more likely to be tied to a scam.
