Better.com, which was founded in 2012, has been under the scanner ever since Garg’s video of firing 900 people unceremoniously went viral on the internet.

Better.com Chief Executive Officer Vishal Garg is taking time off with immediate effect, Vice reported on Friday, citing an email from the digital mortgage company's board.

Indian-origin CEO of Better.com Vishal Garg, who recently was massively trolled for laying off 900 employees over a Zoom meeting call, is "taking time off effective immediately", according to media reports. The digital mortgage company's board of directors said in an email that the company has also hired an outside firm to "do a leadership and cultural assessment".
