The orchestra will be joined by a Grammy-nominated soloist and three area choirs to perform Ralph Vaughan Williams' “Five Mystical Songs” in the concert, set for 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 28.

In anticipation of its upcoming concert, the BSO will hold a Notes of Wine and Music event at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, at Ruttger's Birchmont Lodge, 7598 Bemidji Road NE.

“Love Songs of the Big Screen” is the theme for the concert. It will include pieces from a variety of epic movies, from “Casablanca” to “E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial.”

The BSO is offering a family discount for the concert. Students in grades K-12 will be admitted free, and adults who bring children to the concert can purchased tickets for $10 at the door.

Eric Haugen and Max Wolpert, now both 30 years old, performed together as members of the Bemidji Symphony Orchestra when they were 11.

For our October 11th KX Conversation, Jamarlo Phillips spoke with Beverly Everett, the music director for the Bismarck Mandan Symphony Orchestra.

The concert is part of the Bemidji Symphony Orchestra’s season theme, “A Love Song that no one else can hear …” It will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 8, at the BHS Auditorium.

The concert will also exhibit Calvary Lutheran Church's new Allen digital organ.
