Kimberly Kapp, 40, of Prescott died from injuries sustained in the rollover crash near Big Bug Mesa in Mayer, according to the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office.

As of Saturday morning, the blaze remained contained at 96% and at 9,402 acres burned.

Late Wednesday, the Yavapai County Sheriffs office announced on Facebook all areas affected by the fire were placed in "ready" status.

Residents in one of the last remaining evacuated areas, Lookout Mountain, will be allowed to return home starting at 9 a.m. Wednesday.

A red flag warning  will be in effect Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. for areas in the northeast of Arizona.

Sundays weather tested containment lines, but they held during wind gusts and the fire area did not expand, Prescott National Forest officials said.

A red flag warning and a wind advisory were issued for Sunday, from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., for northern Arizona due to dry conditions and strong winds.

According to the Prescott National Forest, fire crews made some progress along the perimeter on Friday and focused on specific areas of concern.

A decades-long megadrought, combined with low humidity and high winds, has contributed to the tinderbox conditions in the region.

Residents should be mindful of increasing smoke due to winds from the south, officials said.
