Marion County Sheriff s Office investigates kidnapping/rape
Marion County Sheriff s Office detectives need assistance in locating a man who they were told kidnapped and raped a woman on Tuesday.
Authorities said the victim was left on the side of the road, close to the 8000 block of County Road 314.
Detectives said the kidnapping occurred between 8 and 9 a.m. in the 9000 block of Baseline Road. The victim was forced into a vehicle and taken away. Detectives said the woman was raped while unconscious.
Detectives are asking anyone if they saw a vehicle driving erratically on Baseline Road around that time to call them at 732-9111. Callers also can contact Detective Billy Burleson at 368-3542. Shooting death at Rainbow Gathering in Ocala National Forest

A man attending a Rainbow Gathering in the Ocala National Forest was shot and killed late Friday, and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office seeks the public’s help in solving the case.
About 10:40 p.m. Friday, deputies responded to a gathering in the 2200 block of Northeast 196th Terrace Road, Silver Springs, to find Larry DeWayne Dugger, 41, who had been shot. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

Ex-teacher aide in Marion County accused of lewd behavior
Marion County Sheriff s Office detectives have arrested a 57-year-old man for allegedly touching a girl at an elementary school.
Charged with lewd, lascivious behavior, Juvenal Gomez was taken into custody at his residence on Thursday by Detectives Billy Burleson and Brent Castellano.
Gomez made his first appearance in front of County Judge Jim McCune on Friday morning, and bail was set at $25,000. The Public Defender s Office was appointed to represent Gomez.
The Ocala man was fired from Romeo Elementary School, where he was a paraprofessional, or teacher s aide, according to school officials.
