Chairperson of Gorey Tidy Towns has called for Ramsfort Woods to be restored to a satisfactory condition following the cutting down of a large swathe of trees.

Gorey Tidy Towns have been awarded a bronze medal in this year’s SuperValu Tidy Towns competition and are up ten points from last year’s competition.

After many years of neglect, an old drying drum from Gorey Leather Factory has been lovingly restored and given pride of place in Gorey town.

The finishing touches have been added to the final mural on the towns colourful Civic Square, marking the completion of the colourful Gorey Tidy Towns art wall. District Manager Michael Drea paid tribute to the group and all the local artists who created the murals, namely Kate Kos, James Kirwan, Amanda Doran and Nonie Stafford.
