A family of a 16-year-old boy who was assaulted and pointed with a firearm is outraged at the 12-month imprisonment or R12,000 fine sentence handed down to Corrie Pretorius who was caught on video hitting the boy on June 15 2022.

Corrie Pretorius and the 16-year-old boy were in the Groblersdal Game Shopping Centre Mall when Pretorius attacked the teen and pointed a gun at him.

The Limpopo man who was convicted of assaulting of a 16-year-old boy at a shopping mall in Groblersdal last year has been sentenced to twelve months imprisonment or a R12 000 fine.

Spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in Limpopo says the sentence for assault will send a strong message.
