13-year-old boy, Bilson Jojo, died due to snakebite at Ramjadi village under the Jaldega police station limits in Simdega district. This was the third incident of death due to snakebite in the district in the past one week. Over 70 to 80 people fall victim to snakebites in the district each year. Snakes hibernate in severe hot and cold weather and come out in monsoon. Residents of rural hinterlands, who sleep on the floor, mostly fall prey to snakebite.
