Peak wildfire season has begun in Arizona as several fires have popped up across the state.

A wildfire in southern Arizona that burned about a half-mile from the Biosphere 2 science facility is now 100% contained, forestry officials said.

The Arizona State Forestry Department said that the fire is roughly 50% contained at around 13 acres in size.

Fire crews have contained a portion of the Biosphere Fire that was burning about a half mile Sunday morning from the Biosphere 2 facility.

AZ Forestry says the fire is approximately 13 acres, and is about 50% contained. No evacuations are underway during this time.
