Did you know that Her Madgesty, Queen of Pop, Madonna, dropped her last name, Ciccone, not for effect but for a simple, practical reason? The trivia-filled website Anecdotage reveals that the world-famous American artist with Italian roots thought it best to avoid any wisecracks Ciccone might bring when she was starting out in music. Apparently, Ciccone loosely translates to fat Francisco or big Cicco in the native tongue of Madonnas European ancestors.
