Volunteers of all ages gathered to plant native plants along the waterway at the Bitterroot Public Library jin Hamilton this week.

Hamiltons February Culture Crawl will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10.

Public libraries were almost handed a death sentence when the internet came to be, but they adapted, expanded with innovative ideas, and remain a vital service in communities.

The library received a $5,000 grant, which will be used to enhance the graphic novel selections, said Annika Riley, BPL youth service librarian.

With the completion of the new Hamilton Fire Hall on Foxfield Street, officials are looking for input from the community on proposed re-use options for the historic downtown Fire Hall.

The Bitterroot Public Library had a grand re-opening on Wednesday to celebrate the completion of the front door reconstruction. Patrons had to use the side entrance for almost a year.
