A linchpin Blackhawk property that is the former home of the communitys founding father Kenneth Behring is now on the market for the first time since its construction in 1988, following his death and that of his widow in recent years.

The Save Mount Diablo organization has acquired the 10-acre Balcerzak Inholding property, east of Mount Diablo State Parks Curry Point, for $1,075,000 in a deal that closed escrow on Aug. 8.
