NFL Draft Grades: Eagles earn high marks for DeVonta Smith pick As expected. Photo by Gregory Shamus/Getty Images The Philadelphia Eagles traded up to select Alabama wide receiver and Heisman Trophy winner DeVonta Smith (!) with the No. 10 overall pick in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Now it’s time to see what the so-called “experts” are saying about the selection. Instant draft grades are hardly the ultimate determination of whether a pick is actually good or not but they’re s...

"Ideally, you dont pick a wide receiver in the first round in consecutive years, but Smith is too good to pass up at No. 12. He gives the Eagles the true No. 1 WR theyre lacking." "Of course the Eagles would also like a top WR, but CB Darius Slay needs a counterpart on the other side, and Surtain is terrific." "The Eagles desperately need a No. 1 receiver to anchor the passing game. The silky-smooth Smith is an exceptional route runner with vertical playmaking ability." "The Eagles need some he...

But it hasnt all be sunshine and rainbows for Steichen, who was part of Anthony Lynns staff with the Chargers the last few years before Lynn was fired and, it seems, Los Angeles didnt do a whole lot to prevent Steichen from making a lateral move to Philadelphia.  So, what do we know about the Eagles new offensive coordinator? Division Links: BBV has mock drafts, BtB predicts 2021 record, BGN still talking Hurts & Wentz Bleeding Green Nation It’s not hyperbole to say it feels like the Philadelphia Eagles have one of the bleakest outlooks in the NFL. Coming off a 4-11-1 season. No changes at general manager or head coach. Uncertainty at quarterback. $70 million over the cap. Old, bad, expensive, and inflexible roster. It’s hard to feel good about the state of this team. And that sentiment is reflected in the lates...
