Boss Joe Royle says he will make changes when the Blues take on Coventry at Portman Road on Tuesday night (KO 7.45pm). Kevin Horlock is the only new injury concern after Sunday s defeat at Reading.
Two goals on three minutes from Jobi McAnuff and former Blue James Scowcroft saw Jim Magilton s first game in charge of Town end in defeat. The Palace pair struck on 58 and 61, Nicky Forster having put the Blues in front on the half hour.
Former Blue James Scowcroft is reported to be a target of Burnley. The frontman is currently on holiday in France and is expected to hold talks with Clarets boss Steve Cotterill when he returns.
Town threw away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Coventry. Darren Currie and Jimmy Juan put the Blues ahead but Gary McSheffrey and Lilian Nalis netted either side of the break. Nicky Forster appeared to have scored the winner late on but the referee deemed the ball not to have crossed the line.
Middlesbrough s Adam Johnson is again said to be on Jim Magilton s wish list as he looks to sign a left-sided midfielder. Magilton is still to add a left winger to his squad with a move for Southampton s Rudi Skácel having broken down earlier in the summer.
