A local nonprofit is working hard to address poverty and homelessness in Morgan County.

As the weather begins to turn, and families prepare for summer break, many community support groups are anticipating a higher demand for resources, particularly for families with school-aged children.

Despite temperatures in the single digits, outreach workers with Wellspring hit the streets to count the homeless population in Morgan County.

Christmas is the season of giving, and many of the organizations in Morgan County who help those less fortunate year-round are working double-time.

"We want to bring this to the attention of the community, that this is a real thing. This is what people really have to do."
